Sanju Samson is one of the most talented players in the Indian circuit. On different occasions, he has proved his worth in the Indian colors. Though he has not been consistent he has been in and around the Indian setup for quite some time now. Let’s take a look at 3 of his best performances for India

Sanju Samson’s best performance for India came against South Africa in 2022. He played a vital knock in a tricky run chase though he could not finish the match for India. In the first match of the ODI series South Africa batted first in a rain curtailed match. The Proteas scored 249 runs in 40 overs.

The Indians were without some of the senior players and hence needed contributions from the youngsters. Sanju Samson provided solidity to the middle order along with Shreyas Iyer to keep India alive in the chase. He stayed not out but there was no assistance from the other end which resulted in a narrow defeat. 

#2. 77 vs Ireland, 2022

This is Sanju Samson’s best performance in T20 cricket for India. In the T20 series against Ireland, he blasted off the opposition bowlers opening the innings. Along with Deepak Hooda, he made sure India posted a huge total against an inexperienced Irish bowling lineup. Samson and Hooda added 176 runs for the 3rd wicket which gave India the edge throughout the match as they scored 225 runs. India eventually managed to win this match by just 4 runs and the contributions from Samson and Hooda played a huge role in clinching the tight contest. 

#3. 54 vs West Indies, 2022

Another half-century in the winning cause. This was a very crucial innings as India was chasing 312 runs in the absence of key players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. When Samson walked out to bat Indian team was in a spot of bother for 3/79. First, he progressed the innings with Shreyas and after the latter was gone, he did the job with Deepak Hooda. Sanju Samson unfortunately got run out due to a mishap with Hooda. India won the match in the very last over and Samson’s knock among other contributions proved to be instrumental.
