Ranking Quinton De Kocks Top 3 performances in IPL

Quinton De Kock is one of the best overseas openers in the history of the Indian Premier League. At his prime till 2022, De Kock had a great time in the league and played many great knocks. He played for different teams like Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, RCB, and Lucknow SuperGiants in the period. His best came for MI in 2019 and 2020, where he played a key role in their title wins.

De Kock was picked by KKR ahead of the IPL 2025. He will play for a new franchise and would hope to have his best season since 2022. At his best, Quinton used to attack the bowlers right from the word go. Not to forget, he was one of the best wicket keepers at the time. He might keep wickets for KKR in 2025, an area which hasn’t been fruitful for the defending champions since 2019.

Here are Quinton De Kock’s Top 3 best performances in the IPL history –

1. 81(52) vs RR, Wankhede Stadium, IPL 2019

It was the 27th match of the IPL 2019 between RR and MI at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. The wicket was slightly on the slower side and it wasn’t easy to hit right from the word go. De Kock played a good knock against a quality bowling lineup on a slow surface.

The star batter scored 81 runs in 52 balls, which included 6 fours and 4 sixes. His knock came at a strike rate of 155.77. Apart from him, only Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya batted well for MI. RR won the game by 4 wickets, thanks to a great batting performance from Jos Buttler. De Kock did a good job as a wicketkeeper too.

2. 108(51) vs RCB, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, IPL 2016

It was the 11th match of the IPL 2016 between RCB and Delhi at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Delhi won the toss and rightfully opted to bowl first. On a good batting surface, RCB posted 191/5 on the board. A chase of 192 wasn’t as easy back in time. But De Kock’s great knock helped Delhi to claim a clinical win.

The Southpaw took off well and never looked back. With little to no support from the other end, De Kock played a very fine knock. In his stay in the middle, the star batter scored 108 runs in 51 balls, which included a whopping 15 fours and 3 sixes. Delhi chased down the total with 7 wickets in hand. It was also his maiden IPL hundred.

3. 140*(70) vs KKR, DY Patil Sports Academy, IPL 2022

In the IPL 2022, LSG and KKR faced each other in the 66th match of the season at DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. LSG won the toss and decided to bat first. It was a must win game for both sides to stay alive in the tournament. The opening duo of KL Rahul and De Kock scripted history by becoming the first pair of batters to bat all 20 overs in an IPL match.

While Rahul played the second fiddle with his 68*(51), De Kock played a sensational knock. The experienced batter toyed around with the bowlers and scored an unbeaten 140*(70), which included 10 fours and sixes each. It’s the third highest individual score for a batter in the IPL history, and the highest for a WK batter. LSG won the match by just 2 runs in the thriller to qualify for the playoffs. Quinny also took a catch and inflicted a stumping.
