#1. 5/10 vs New Zealand, 2010

Similar to his Test career, Mohammad Sami picked up his first 5-wicket haul in ODI cricket against New Zealand. This was interestingly the only 5-wicket haul in his ODI career. Sami played an instrumental role in Pakistan’s comprehensive victory in the second ODI of the series against New Zealand at Lahore. Batting first Pakistan scored 281 runs posing a difficult target for New Zealand to chase. In the second innings, Mohammad Sami did the job for his team as his 5-wicket haul did not let the visitors gain momentum in the run chase. As a result, Pakistan won the match by 124 runs. 

#2. 4/25 vs Kenya, 2003

This is the second-best bowling performance in Mohammad Sami’s ODI career. He delivered this spell against Kenya at Sharjah. The fast bowler exploited the slightly weaker batting unit of Kenya and troubled them big time. The opposition was chasing 287 runs in the second innings and needed partnerships to complete this arduous run chase. However, Sami did not let Kenya forge major partnerships as he took wickets at regular intervals. This resulted in Pakistan restricting the chasing side to 143 runs and winning the match by a massive margin of 143 runs.

#3. 4/41 vs Zimbabwe, 2002

Here is another match-winning bowling effort from Mohammad Sami. Pakistan and Zimbabwe played a 5-match ODI series in 2002. In the fourth match of the series, Sami set the stage on fire with this bowling performance. Zimbabwe opted to bat first after winning the toss but their decision did not pay off. At the end of the first innings, they only had 210 runs in their account. Sami along with other bowlers played a significant role in restricting Zimbabwe to this total.
