1. 5/23 – vs Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) – 2011
In the 2011 IPL season, Lasith Malinga had for the first time ever symbolised the brilliance of his true bowling. He had taken five wickets in the Indian Premier League’s fourth edition. The Delhi Daredevils, captained by Virender Sehwag, were a strong side, but they were unable to withstand Lasith Malinga’s devastating bowling. After taking wickets of famous names like David Warner and Unmukt Chand, he shocked Delhi as they were bowled out on 95/10.
2. 4/16 – vs Deccan Chargers – 2012
With his fiery bowling, Malinga has claimed four wickets against Deccan Chargers in a league phase match. Because of his economical bowling, Dale Steyn, who took two wickets, was awarded man of the match instead of Malinga, causing a stir. Yet, Lasith Malinga’s inconsistent bowling ultimately allowed Mumbai Indians to win easily by five wickets once more.
3. 4/22 – vs Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings)- 2010
Kings XI Punjab, headed by Mahela Jayawardene Prior to their encounter with MI in the league’s 27th game, Punjab had a strong winning record in the competition.
