Ranking Imad Wasim’s top 3 performances in ODIs in batting and bowling

Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has turned 35 years old. Last month, he decided to retire from international cricket. He made his ODI debut against Sri Lanka in 2015. In this five-match ODI series, the Green Brigade needed to win by 3-2 to qualify for Champions Trophy 2017 which they went on to win. Meanwhile, his last ODI was against Zimbabwe in 2020 at home.

1. 63 not out against England in 2016

In the second game between England and Pakistan, the Green Brigade batted first and helped the team reduce to 125/5, they reached 251 with Wasim scoring a fifty and former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed getting a hundred. Even though the Asian side lost by four wickets, it was a fighting effort from Wasim and Ahmed.

2. 61 against Zimbabwe in 2016

In the first ODI between Pakistan and Zimbabwe, the visitors, Pakistan batted first and were reduced to 128/5. At this stage, Wasim scored 61 while Mohammad Rizwan getting a fifty, the team reached 259/6. In reply, the Chevrons were bowled out for 128 runs with Yasir Shah taking six wickets.

3. 57 against England in 2016

In the fourth ODI between England and Pakistan, the visitors, Pakistan batted first and were reduced 180/7. Thanks to Wasim’s 57, the team reached 247/8. However, despite losing six wickets, the home team won the game with two overs left.

4. 14/5 against Ireland in 2016

In the first ODI between Pakistan and Ireland, the Asian team had a great start with Sharjeel Khan (152) scoring a hundred while Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez got a fifty each and helped the team reach 337/6. In reply, the home team was bowled out for 82 runs with Imad Wasim taking five wickets for 15 runs in 5.4 overs.

5. 3/36 against Zimbabwe in 2015

In the third ODI between both teams, the home team, Chevrons batted first and were bowled out for only 161 with Wasim taking three wickets for 36 runs and Bilal Asif taking a fifer. In reply, the Green Brigade won the game by seven wickets and 16 overs remaining.

6. 53/3 against England in 2019

In the last game of the series before the ODI World Cup, the home team, England batted first and amassed 351/9 with Joe Root and Eoin Morgan scoring fifties. For the visitors, Imad Wasim stood out with three for 53 runs in 10 overs. In reply, despite their best efforts, the Asian side was bowled out for 297, losing by 54 runs.
