3. Virender Sehwag

Delhi Capitals’, earlier known as Delhi Daredevils, first ever captain, Virender Sehwag, was one of their longest reigning captains and also one of the most successful leaders. During his stint with the team between 2008 and 2012, Sehwag captained Delhi in 52 matches, with 28 wins and 24 losses. He had a win percentage of 53.84 with the team. He was with no doubt one of the most successful captains for the team. 

2. Rishabh Pant 

Up until recently, Rishabh Pant was an integral part of the Delhi Capitals. The franchise had all the trust in him despite not having won a title. However, he was let go ahead of the 2025 season. During his stint, he captained the team in 43 matches and helped them win 23 matches. He had a win percentage of 54.65. 

1. Shreyas Iyer 

The most success that the Delhi Capitals has had in a single edition of the IPL was in 2020. The team led by Shreyas Iyer reached the finals of the season for the first time in history. This was also the only time they managed to reach the summit game. However, despite their efforts, DC lost the game to Mumbai. In his stint with DC, Iyer captained in 41 games, winning 21 of them. He had a win percentage of 53.65.
