Aaqib Javed, a former fast-bowler from Pakistan who was born on August 5, 1972, contributed to his country’s World Cup victory in 1992. At the age of 16 years and 189 days, Aaqib made his Test debut. Upon receiving the national cap in a match against New Zealand in Wellington, he became the second-youngest cricket player to participate in Test matches. He played 22 test matches for Pakistan and picked 54 wickets.
1. 8/118 vs Sri Lanka – 1995
During Pakistan’s 2nd test match against Sri Lanka in Faisalabad Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first Sri Lanka posted a total of 223 runs in which Aaqib Javed took three wickets and gave 34 runs in the first innings. While in the second innings of the match, he picked up five wickets and gave 84 runs. Meanwhile, Aaqib Javed picked eight wickets in the 2nd test match. However, Sri Lanka won the match by 42 runs.
2. 6/90 Vs Zimbabwe – 1995
During Pakistan’s 3rd Test match against Zimbabwe in Harare, Pakistan elected to bat first after winning the toss. Zimbabwe knocked out Pakistan for 231 runs in the first innings. Coming to chase down the target Zimbabwe could manage to score 243 runs as Aaqib Javed took four wickets and gave 64 runs. In the second innings of the match, he picked up two wickets and gave 26 runs. Meanwhile, Pakistan won the test match by 99 runs.
3. 5/118 Vs Sri Lanka – 1998
During the Pakistan tour of Sri Lanka in the 3rd Test match at Sialkot Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. In the first innings of the match, Sri Lanka scored 232 runs as Aaqib Javed picked three wickets and gave 47 runs. In the second innings, he picked up two wickets and gave 71 runs as Sri Lanka managed to score 338 runs before declaring the innings.
