Quinton de Kock’s top 3 knocks in T20I cricket

The swashbuckling South African left-handed opener Quinton De Kock has been a treat to watch for cricket purists. De Kock has been a regular feature at the top of the batting order for the Proteas in all formats of the game. However, in this article, we will particularly emphasize his top 3 performances in T20I cricket

#1. 100 vs West Indies, 2023

This is the only century that Quinton De Kock has made in his T20 career and this knock was played earlier this year against West Indies. West Indies batted first in the match and posted a humongous target of 259 runs for South Africa to chase. Nothing short of an extraordinary performance could save South Africa in this match and De Kock stood up to the task by slamming a lightning-quick century. He completed his century in just 43 deliveries and played a monumental role in South Africa’s memorable win. For his match-winning knock De Kock was adjudged the player of the match.

#2. 79* vs India, 2019

Another top-notch performance from Quinton De Kock in a run chase but this time against India. In the 3rd T20I of the series, the left-handed opener made it very easy for the Proteas to get the victory. Batting first India could only manage to post 134 which was chased down pretty convincingly by South Africa courtesy of an unbeaten half-century from De Kock who was also captaining the team in that match

#3. 72 vs West Indies, 2021

De Kock played this knock against West Indies at St. George’s in 2021. His impressive innings helped South Africa to pose a fighting total in the first innings despite no substantial contributions from other batters. The left-hander kept taking the initiative of putting the pressure on West Indies bowling attack which got him rewards. Eventually, South Africa won this match by just 1 run which proves the significance of De Kock’s half-century.
