Predicting Sri Lanka’s Playing XI for their 3rd ODI against New Zealand

Predicting Sri Lanka’s Playing XI for the 3rd ODI against New Zealand. Sri Lanka has outplayed the New Zealand team in all departments of the game, which has been really great. The improvement of the team is something that wasn’t anticipated, but the players have proved everyone wrong. They won the first game with a margin of 45 runs, with some rain-involvement. Sri Lanka has evolved as a team and will be looking forward to winning the series.

The last game of the 3-match ODI series will commence on November 19. New Zealand hasn’t shown great enthusiasm on the field as the batters have failed massively. The bowlers haven’t done well either. So, Sri Lanka has a pretty decent chance of clinching the series with a win in the last game.

Here’s the predicted Sri Lanka’s Playing XI:

Top Order

Kusal Mendis

Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis form the top order. While Nissanka didn’t play the best innings of his life, he is a pretty good batter who can pull off huge sixes. The other two batters scored two centuries in the first game, which speaks about their batting abilities. The top order is sorted in terms of batting and they have to do the same in the upcoming game.

Middle Order

Charith Asalanka

Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Janith Liyanage and Kamindu Mendis are the middle-order batters who make up the backbone of the team. Captain Asalanka is one of the best batters in the team and has played some terrific knocks in the past. The batters are in great form and are ready to win the series.

Bowlers

Maheesh Theekshana

The main bowlers are Maheesh Theekshana, Vandersay, Dilshan Madushanka, and Asitha Fernando. They have been brilliant throughout the series and the team will count on them. The New Zealand batters haven’t been able to face the bowlers confidently, which has led to their downfall in the series.
