Predicting Sri Lanka’s Playing XI for their 2nd Test against South Africa

Sri Lanka didn’t have a dream match in the first match against South Africa as they lost the game by 233 runs. They were all out for 42 runs in the first innings, thanks to Marco Jansen’s seven-wicket haul. He was brilliant with the ball and helped South Africa get a huge win. This win brought them to the 2nd position in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table. Now, they are ahead of Australia and are just below India. Sri Lanka will have to bounce back and win the last game to increase their points as well.

Here’s the predicted Sri Lanka’s Playing XI:

Top Order

Pathum Nissanka

Pathum Nissanka, Karunaratne, and Dinesh Chandimal are the top-order batters. They are some of the brilliant players but failed to perform in the first innings of the last match. However, Dinesh did well in the second innings, scoring a blistering 83 runs in 174 balls. They have the potential to win games and will try to do that in the upcoming games.

Middle Order

Kusal Mendis

The middle-order batters are Angelo Mathews, Kamindu Mendis, Kusal Mendis, and Dhananjaya de Silva. Most of the batters failed in the last match but are talented players with the ability to hit around the park. Moreover, they will have to score well in the last match because they are the backbone of the team.

Bowlers
