Predicting South Africa’s Playing XI for their first ODI against Ireland

The South Africans will be going into ODI’s with the Ireland team in Abu Dhabi and there is a lot riding on this game for the South Africans who failed to take the series against the Irish in the T20I series. Temba Bavuma and his men will be ready to make a difference in this upcoming  series where they have to show why they are still one of the top teams in international cricket.

The South Africans have built another decent squad for the ODI series who have the ability to win games. We will be talking about who the players could be that will feature in the first ODI between the two teams going forward. Top order- Temba Bavuma(c), Tony de Zorzi and Rassie van der Dussen

This will most likely be the top order which the Proteas will go for with skipper Temba Bavuma and the talented Tony de Zorzi being the opening pair with van der Dussen coming in at three. This will be the solid top order lineup which can cause a lot of damage to any bowling attack they are up against and have the correct balance of technique and power.

Middle order- Tritan Stubbs, Ryan Rickelton and Kyle Verreynne(wk)

There are some talented batters who could make a lot of difference in the middle order and these three players will most likely be the players who will take the position of 4, 5 and 6. We all have seen the talent of Stubbs and Rickelton and it will not be surprising if they go on to form the middle order along with a handy batter like Verreynne in the setup as well who can form partnerships as well.

Lower middle order- Wiaan Mulder and Andile Phehlukwayo

These two all rounders will be an important asset to the team with both bat an ball. Mulder and Phehlukwayo are not only known for bowling some decent spells but can also play some handy innings with the bat as well. These two will also add depth to the squad and make sure that they take the team out of tough situations when needed. Overall they will be the players to watch out for in the long run as well and the Rainbow nation will be counting on them.

Tailenders- Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi and Bjorn Fortuin

The specialist pacers in Nandre Burger and Lungi Ngidi have proven to be great players in the South African setup with their pace and variations and the inclusion of Bjorn Fortuin with his left arm spin will bring some variety as well. These three will make up the perfect bowling attack against the Irish side in the first ODI and will look to give their best performance on the day.
