Predicting South Africa's Playing XI for their 2nd Test against Sri Lanka

South Africa were successful in winning the first Test match against Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 233 runs. After a lean start by the Proteas in the first innings, they managed to make a solid comeback in the series. In the first innings, they scored 191 runs, thanks to captain Temba Bavuma’s 71 runs. Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara claimed three wickets while the other bowlers contributed too. However, in an unwanted turn of events, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 42 runs, courtesy of Marco Jansen’s seven-wicket haul. The visitors’ confidence was shaken as they failed to make a comeback in the second innings, losing the game.

Here’s the predicted XI of South Africa against Sri Lanka:

Top Order

Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram, Tony de Zorzi, and Tristan Stubbs form the top order. The three explosive batters give a proper start to the match, helping the middle-order batters gain momentum. While they failed in the first innings, they did extremely well in the second. Stubbs went on to hit 122 runs as well, showing his batting prowess.

Middle Order

Temba Bavuma

The middle order consists of Temba Bavuma, Bedingham, Verreynne, and Mulder. They are some of the best batters. Captain Bhavuma scored a magnificent century in the second innings, becoming an inspiration for the team. He scored 113 runs in 228 balls, which was magnificent. Hence, the Proteas have their batting sorted.

Bowlers

Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, Keshav Maharaj, and Kagiso Rabada are the best bowling for now. They stopped the dangerous Sri Lankan batters from winning the game which went to England and beat them in the last match. Jansen is an astounding player who is entering the book of records. Thus, the same will be expected of them in the upcoming match.
