Predicting Rajasthan Royals’ four overseas players for their Playing XI

The Indian Premier League 2025 Auctions were completed a while back and the teams are now locked in. With their roosters now all set, the teams will now look to building their winning combinations. A key aspect of that is the overseas players. All teams will look to maximize their chance with the four foreign players allowed in the Playing XI.

Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural champions, managed to bag some talented overseas players at the auctions. They will now look to get their strategies set for the upcoming season. Here, we look at the four possible overseas players that can feature in RR’s Playing XI.

The Royals entrusted Shimron Hetmyer over Jos Buttler to be retained ahead of the auctions. This clearly indicates that the West Indies star will feature in the Playing XI. Hetmyer is a class player and a match-winner. His presence in the team will give them a good power-hitting option in the middle order. He will be a player to watch out for.

The Men in Pink bought back their star pacer Jofra Archer in the Mega Auctions for a price of 12.5 crores. He is one of the best bowlers in any condition and definitely a good replacement for Trent Boult, who they had to let go. However, his fitness always is a big question mark. If he remains fit, he is sure to play in the XI.

3. Wanindu Hasaranga

Wanindu Hasarana was a massive buy for RR at 5.25 crores. He has been the second highest wicket-taker in all T20s this year and the Royals would bank on that. He will be very useful for them with the ball. Apart from that, he also is a handy batter. His finishing skills might prove beneficial for the team.

4. Maheesh Theekshan

Another Sri Lanka who could potentially be a match-winner for Rajasthan is Maheesh Theekshan. He has an economy of under 7 in his T20 career and can also take wickets. His ability to bowl at any stage of the game will bring some relief for the team and the captain.
