Predicting Playing XI of Pakistan for their fourth T20I against New Zealand

The confident Pakistan will face New Zealand in the fourth T20I of the ongoing five-match series at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. Both teams will be in action in the game on Sunday, March 23, at 11:30 PM (IST). It will be a must-win and an all-important game for both teams.

Pakistan are coming off a massive 9-wicket victory over the Blackcaps in the third T20I of the ongoing series. They chased down the big target of 205 runs very comfortably in just 16 overs, scoring 207 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket and won the game by a wholesome 9-wicket margin.

The Men in Green will look ahead to beat Michael Bracewell’s men in this match and help them level the five-match T20I series 2-2 and head to the fifth and last T20I, which will become an interesting series decider between both teams.

Having said that, here we’ll have a look at the predicted playing XI of Pakistan for their fourth T20I against New Zealand. It will also be the penultimate fixture of the five-match series.

Openers – Mohammad Haris (WK) and Hasan Nawaz

The opening pair of Pakistan will look the same in the pair of the star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris and young opening batter Hasan Nawaz. After a dismal run in the first T20Is, the duo stitched a match-winning opening partnership of 74 runs in just 6 overs, with a run-rate of more than 12.00.

Haris scored 41 runs off just 20 balls, with 4 fours and three sixes; on the other hand, Hasan Nawaz smashed his memorable maiden T20I century, smashing 105 runs off just 45 balls, with 10 fours and seven sixes. So, the opening duo is going to be same for the Men in Green for the fourth T20I against New Zealand.

Middle-Order – Salman Agha (C), Irfan Khan, and Abdul Samad

The middle order of Pakistan is set to start with skipper Salman Agha to bat at number three. He scored a quick half-century in the last game, scoring 51 runs off just 31 balls, with six fours and two sixes. Besides that, his unbeaten partnership of 133 runs for the second wicket also played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s huge 9-wicket win in the third T20I against New Zealand.

Following Agha, Irfan Khan and Abdul Samad will be there in Pakistan playing XI to bat at number four and number five. Irfan and Samad can hit some big shots in the middle or death overs to help Pakistan post a big total on the board or chase down a big target in the second innings.

All-Rounders – Shadab Khan and Khushdil Shah

The star all-rounder Shadab Khan scalped a wicket in the last game; he is aiming to get his form back, both with the bat and the ball. Shadab can be a vital asset for his time, with the bat in the death over while he could also produce some brilliant overs in the middle-over phase of an innings.

Shadab will be accompanied by the in-form Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah, who has been playing some impressive knocks in the white-ball cricket since ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Shah’s ability to hit big sixes and fours is surely going to help the Men in Green to post a big score and trouble the opponent.

Bowlers – Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abbas Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Abrar Ahmed

The Pakistan bowlers had a mixed outing in the third T20I against New Zealand as they scalped all the 10 wickets but went on to concede 200+ runs in the first innings. Star pace spearhead Haris Rauf scalped 3 wickets at just 29 runs in his 4 overs. Besides him, Shaheen Shah Afridi also scalped 2 wickets.

Abrar Ahmed and Abbas Afridi also picked 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket bagged by Shadab Khan. So, the combination of three out-and-out pacers, alongside a specialist spinner will be a perfect choice of bowling attack in the playing XI for Pakistan in their fourth T20I fixture against New Zealand.
