The WBBL is currently in its final few games in the league stage and the next match we all are looking forward to is the match between the Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes, who will be battling it out to keep their chances alive in the playoffs in their final match of the season. The Scorchers just had a thrilling tied game against the Sixers and will want to finish with a big win and will need the best combination.
The Perth Scorchers have had a hot and cold season so far and the tied game against the Sixers has made their chances a bit tougher. However, Sophie Devine and the girls will want to win big to keep the fourth position and keep their chances alive in the tournament. It will be interesting to see what will they have in store going into the match tomorrow at the WACA.
So, here is the predicted playing XI for the Scorchers going into the match-
Top order: Beth Mooney(wk), Amy Jones and Brooke Halliday
Beth Mooney is no doubt one of the experienced players who should be backed especially after playing a decent knock in the last match. Brooke Halliday was also great in the match against the Sixers. However, the only change the Scorchers might have to make is to get back Amy Jones into the mix. Maddy Darke has not been in the best of form and Jones might be the perfect replacement for her.
Middle order: Sophie Devine(c), Dayalan Hemalatha and Chloe Piparo
The middle order might also see a change as the Scorchers might be looking to bring the likes of Chloe Piparo back into the mix. Hinkley might have some potential but has not been consistent in the tournament. Devine and Hemalatha will most likely still be backed and play in the last match where they will have nothing to lose. These three can make a difference for the team.
Lower-middle order: Carly Leeson and Chloe Ainsworth
Carly Leeson might have not had much contribution with the bat but has still bowled some decent spells with the ball. The Scorchers will still look to back her in the next match as well. Chloe Ainsworth has been one of their top players this season and will be one of the key players in the do-or-die match which can decide the fate of the Scorchers in the tournament.
Tailenders: Alana King, Amy Edgar, and Ebony Hoskin
Alana King has been one of the top bowlers for the Scorchers with her wrist spin and Hoskin and Edgar have also proven their worth in the tournament in some moments. The bowling has been one of the strong points for the Scorchers and they will want these three to continue bowling great spells for the team against the Hurricanes going into the match tomorrow.
