Predicting Pakistan’s Playing XI for the Second T20I Against New Zealand

New Zealand and Pakistan are playing a five match T20I series after the ICC Champions Trophy. Both teams are having fresh faces. In the opening game New Zealand defeated Pakistan as the five series between New Zealand and Pakistan didn’t go as per plan of Pakistan. After some poor performances in recent times Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were dropped from the team.Meanwhile, the majority of New Zealand players are missing because the IPL is about to start. However Pakistan faced humiliation as they scored only  91 runs. It took New Zealand only 10 overs to chase down the total as they won the match by nine wickets. Pakistan will aim to win the second T20I match to make the series interesting.

Mohammad Haris

Mohammad Haris and Hasan Nawaz are two openers for Pakistan in this series as Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are dropped out from the squad for the series. So far Mohammad Haris has played 9 games and scored 126 while Hasan Nawaz made his debut. However he had a bad debut as he went out on duck. Captain Salman Ali Agha comes down the order to bat at no.3 position. In seven games he scored 68 runs and in the first game he managed to score 18 runs. 

Middle Order:

Irfan Khan Niazi

Irfan Khan Niazi is capable of producing good innings for Pakistan. In 10 games he scored 153 runs. While Shadan Khan is a strong pillar of the middle order. With his experience he can bring stability to the batting line-up.  Khushdil Shah is the perfect all-rounder in the team. His batting skills have helped Pakistan to get out of danger many times. In the first T20I when other batters failed Khushdil Shah scored 32 runs.

Lower-Middle Order:

Abdul Samad

Abdul Samad and Jahandad Khan are capable of batting when the team is struggling. During the first T20I Jahandad Khan 17 runs helped Pakistan to reach the mark of 91 runs. 

Lower Order:

Shaheen Afridi

Shaheen Afridi is the lead bowler in the pace attack.  For the second T20I match Haris Rauf is likely to get back in the team. If Haris Rauf gets back in the team he will form a dangerous bowling attack with Shaheen Afridi. Abrar Ahmed is the lone bowler in the team. In last game he was the only bowler to get the wicket of New Zealand batter.
