Predicting Netherlands Playing XI against India in ODI World Cup 2023

The Dutch have punched above their weight in this tournament. They have shown the cricketing world that they are ready to take on the “Big Boys” of international cricket. Though they are out of the semi-final race their story in this tournament has been nothing short of a fairytale. They will be locking horns with India in their last group-stage match in hopes of finishing their campaign on a good note. Let’s take a look at their probable starting lineup against India.

Top Order

Top Order

Netherlands’ top order has not performed the way their middle order has responded. They have tried a different opening pair in the last couple of matches with Wesley Barresi being given the responsibility to open with Max O’Dowd. Barresi has looked in great touch against England and Bangladesh. The management may look to drop Max O’Dowd as he has not been able to grab the opportunities and Vikramjit Singh might come back in the lineup. This top order will have to show up in the next match if they have to put up a good batting performance against India.

Middle Order

Middle Order

The Dutch middle order has rescued the team on multiple occasions in this tournament. This middle order has depth and it has delivered some notable performances. Scott Edwards has been the best batter in this middle order and a lot would count on him. Against England, Sybrand Engelbrecht and Teja Nidamnuru got a good start but they could not convert it. These two will have to convert against India to provide solidity to the batting order. Colin Ackermann and Bas De Leede must regain their form to amplify the Netherlands’ chances in this game.

Bowling Unit

Paul Van Meekeren will once again lead this bowling unit as he has been one of the consistent bowlers for the Netherlands. Bas De Leede and Logan Van Beek will be the two other pacers but they were expensive against England and the challenge will be even tougher for them in Bengaluru.

Roelof Van Der Merwe’s return is a positive for them and his partnership with Aryan Dutt as lead spinners will be crucial.
