Predicting Melbourne Renegades Women’s playing XI for their match against Sydney Thunders Women in WBBL

The top-of-the-table clash during the final few league matches of the Women’s Big Bash League will witness Melbourne Renegades take on Sydney Thunder. Currently, the renegades are second in the table with 12 points from 8 games tied for points with Brisbane Heat who beat Melbourne Stars in a 7-over game on Friday.

In the last match, Renegades beat Hobart Hurricanes by 22 runs to solidify their place in the top two in the table. A win over the Thunder side would mean that the Renegades will head into the top of the table ahead of the final round of matches.

Here is the likely Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Thunder XI

Top order – Hayley Matthews and Courtney Webb

West Indian star batter Hayley Matthews is a huge name in the T20I format but wasn’t able to get off the mark in the last match. Fellow opener Courtney Webb did well to score 22 runs and give their team a good start.

Middle Order – Sophie Molineux, Deandra Dottin, Georgia Wareham

Skipper Sophie Molineux and West Indian legend Deandra Dottin weren’t able to score many runs in the last game against Hobart. The two stars though have a good amount of experience to show their class with the bat. Georgia Wareham led the scoring charts with 69 off 45 balls to help the Renegades score 150 in the last match.

Lower-order – Naomi Stalenberg, Nicole Faltum, Georgia Prestwidge

Over the last few games, the lower middle order for the Renegades has done well with the bat. It was evident with the unbeaten 36 score by Stalenberg while Faltum and Prestwidge didn’t have much to do with bat or ball.

Tail enders – Sarah Coyle, Milly Illingworth, Charis Bakker

Sarah Coyle’s form with the ball has been inconsistent as she endured a wicketless game against Hobart. Milly Illingworth and Charis Bakker picked one wicket each with Illingworth in particular giving away just 13 runs from her 4 overs.
