Predicting India’s Playing XI for their first ODI against Sri Lanka 

The India vs Sri Lanka ODI series is about to begin tomorrow and we are set to see the series between the Men in Blue and the Lankan Lions. India has already defeated Sri Lanka in the T20I series where the home side was completely whitewashed in the series. This will be a different format now and the Lankans will be looking for revenge in the ODI’s.

The Indians will be looking to bring their T20 form to the ODI with some big players in the setup. The Indian team will be looking to dominate the 50-over format as well. This will be an opportunity for Sri Lanka to test themselves against a strong Indian unit. The Indians will want to continue their dominance and will be looking forward to this ODI series which will also be great for the young players in the squad who are looking to make an impact.

The return of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul will be something that the Men in Blue will be trusting. Rahul and Iyer are one of the best players of spin and will be enjoying the conditions. On the other hand, the inclusion of Rishabh Pant will be a plus point for the Men in Blue who can also play his aggressive style of cricket at number 6. This could be the middle order that can finish games easily.

Lower middle-order- Axar Patel and Washington Sundar

There is no doubt that Kuldeep Yadav will be the best attacking spin option with the variations and turns he possesses. He will also be the best player in these conditions as well. As for the pace attack, the best options will be Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh who can swing the new ball and can bowl tough overs in the death as well. Overall this will be an XI that can cause problems.
