Predicting India's Playing XI for 2nd T20I against Bangladesh

Team India began the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with a huge win. The home team coasted home to win by 7 wickets as Hardik Pandya hit the winning runs. India won the game with a massive 49 balls left to play as they took 1-0 lead in the series.

The series moves onto New Delhi as the newly crowned T20I World Cup winners will look to seal the series. With a possible win on Wednesday the men in blue will preserve their amazing start under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav.

Coach Gautam Gambhir heads back to his home stadium for the first time at the hot seat of the toughest job in the world. So far Gambhir and SKY have formed a good partnership and won their maiden series in Sri Lanka.

Here is the likely Indian XI for the 2nd T20I against Bangladesh

Top order

Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma continued his dream run with the bat as he scored 16 runs from 7 balls. The left-handed batter was looking set for a big score before he was unfortunately run-out. Sanju Samson scored 29 off 19 balls and hit 6 crisp fours but sadly couldn’t get a bigger score. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav blazed his way to 29 with 2 fours and 3 sixes but was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.

Middle Order

Hardik Pandya

The best player of the day was Hardik Pandya who bowled four overs and picked 1 wicket while giving 26 runs. With the bat the 30-year-old scored 39 runs from 16 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. Debutant Nitish Reddy bowled 2 wicketless overs and then went onto score 16 not out. Riyan Parag sadly didn’t have much to do during the game but will be keen to play some part on Wednesday.

Lower-order

Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh’s wait for his chance to bat just got longer. The left-handed batter hasn’t had a great 2024 and will be hoping to do his bit during the 2nd T20I. Washington Sundar bowled 2 overs and picked 1 wicket for 12 runs. The young all-rounder will want to continue his good form with the ball and help India seal the series.

Tail enders

Varun Chakravarthy

33-year-old spinner Varun Chakravarthy bowled his heart out to make a tremendous return to the T20I team. The KKR star bowled 4 overs and picked 3/31 to mark an amazing return. Arshdeep Singh was at his best as he picked 3/14 from his 3.5 overs. Mayank Yadav playing his first T20I game picked 1/21 from his 4 overs which included a maiden over.
