Predicting India’s playing XI against Pakistan in Women’s T20 World Cup

Predicting India's playing XI against Pakistan in Women's T20 World Cup

After an embarrassing loss against New Zealand in the 1st match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team will be looking forward to having a brilliant game against arch-rivals Pakistan. The high-intensity match will take place on Sunday afternoon which will increase the excitement.

Pakistan are coming into the contest with a win in their first match while India have lost their first game. This will play a big role in the mentality of the players when they face each other. Moreover, to stay alive in the contest, this game will be extremely important for India.

Here’s the predicted XI of India against Pakistan:

Top Order

Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur are the top-order batters who hold the maximum responsibility of the team. They are one of the best batters in the team and have the potential to change the game around. Shafali and Smriti are aggressive batters who give a good start to the team. However, in the first match, they collapsed but they still had time to make it up.

Middle Order

The middle-order batters consist of Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, Deepthi Sharma and Arundhati Reddy. These players are an asset to the team but the 1st match wasn’t that great for any player. Rodrigues is a brilliant batter who knows her game quite well. She hits huge sixes quite confidently which is an added advantage. Apart from her, the other batters have done significantly well in the team.

Bowlers

Pooja Vastrakar, Shreyanka Patil, Asha Sobhana and Renuka Singh form the Indian bowling lineup. In the match against New Zealand, their performance was slightly down as they leaked 10-15 runs extra. But against Pakistan, they’ll have to be a bit more careful regarding such mistakes in the marquee event.
