Predicting India Women’s Playing XI for their second ODI against Australia Women

India Women lost the first game against Australia Women in the 3-match ODI series. The batting was extremely disappointing as the Indian team could only score 100 runs and were bowled out. Megan Schutt claimed a fifer in the match, making it impossible for the batters to play her throughout the innings. Apart from her, Kim Garth, Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland and Alana King claimed one wicket each. The batters failed to put up a good show and will be in hopes of winning the upcoming matches.

Top Order

Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol

Priya Punia, Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol are the opening batters for India. All three batters failed to give a good start to the innings which was the main reason behind India’s loss. It was their responsibility to put up a good performance but it didn’t happen. Moreover, together they have scored just 30 runs which is extremely disappointing. 

Middle-order

Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma are the middle-order batters. They are the only players who crossed the double digits and contributed a bit towards the score. The highest score for India was Rodrigues’ who scored 23 runs in 42 balls. There were no sixes in the entire innings. 

Bowlers

Titas Sadhu and Saima Thakor

As compared to the batters, the bowler’s performance was extraordinarily good. They claimed five wickets and did put Australia under pressure. However, they had a strong middle order which helped them win the game in 16 overs. Renuka Singh, Priya Mishra, Titas Sadhu and Saima Thakor were the main bowlers. Renuka claimed three wickets while Priya Mishra claimed two wickets.
