Get the India Women’s Playing XI for the first ODI against Australia Women. Harmanpreet Kaur-led team India is set to play 3 ODI matches in Australia. The first two games are set to be played at the Allan Border field in Brisbane. The final game of the series will be played at the famous WACA Stadium in Perth. It is a huge tour for the Indian eves as they look to start a new cycle of international cricket.

Opening batter Shafali Varma has been dropped from the team due to an inconsistent run of scores. Harleen Deol makes her return to the side and is slated to make it back to the playing XI. The onus of batting well will fall on the shoulders of Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana.

Some of the Indian players are already aware of the conditions that they could encounter. Some of the players were part of the Women’s Big Bash League 2024 tournament which got over last week.

Here is the likely India Women’s Playing XI vs Australia

Top order

Shafali Varma

With Shafali Verma out of the fray, the onus of giving India a great start with the bat falls onto Smriti Mandhana. The left-handed batter had been going through patchy form during the 2024 season but seems to have turned the corner during WBBL, Jemimah Rodrigues has also been in good form and will look to continue piling on the runs in Australia.

Middle Order

Harmanpreet Kaur

Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has loads of experience and is one of the best Indian batters. The right-handed batter waged a lone battle during the T20 World Cup game against Australia which saw India end up on the losing side. Harleen Deol is making her return to the team after nearly a year and will want to prove her worth. Deepti Sharma is the rock for the Indian team both with the bat and also with the ball.

Lower-order

Priya Mishra

Young wicketkeeper and batter Richa Ghosh has a lot of potential and can score runs with quick pace towards the back end of the innings. Young spinner Minu Mani is in line to make her ODI debut and is rated very highly in the domestic circuit. Priya Mishra recently made her ODI debut for India against New Zealand. The 20-year-old impressed everyone with her astute bowling to pick 3 wickets from two matches.

Tail enders

Radha Yadav

With the wicket likely to seam and swing, the fast bowling trio of Radha Yadav, Renuka Thakur, and Titas Sadhu will play a key role. Thakur can bowl with good control and can also bring the ball to the right-handers. Titas Sadhu has impressed everyone with the limited chances she has got so far in international cricket.

India XI vs Australia

Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Harleen Deol, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wk), Minnu Mani, Priya Mishra, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Titas Sadhu
