Predicting England’s Playing XI for their 1st ODI against West Indies

England are set to tour the West Indies for a 3-match ODI series and a 5-match T20I series, which will be super fun to watch. After losing the ODI series against Australia, England will be hoping to bounce back and play the best cricket possible to win the series. Earlier this month, they got a huge blow in the form of Jos Buttler’s exclusion from the ODI squad due to injury. Now, Liam Livingstone has been given the responsibility of the team in the ODI series.

England squad: Jofra Archer, Jacob Bethell, Jafer Chohan, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone (C), Saqib Mahmood, Dan Mousley, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Reece Topley, John Turner

Phill Salt

Phill Salt, Will Jacks, and Michael Pepper are the top-order batters for England. They have been phenomenal in the last game against Australia and have the potential to do well in the upcoming games as well. Jack is known as a stroke player and if given the correct platform, he can do wonders for the team. The same goes for Phill Salt and Dan Mousley.

Middle Order:

Liam Livingston

In the absence of Harry Brook and Jos Buttler, England will have Jacob Bethell, skipper Liam Livingstone, Dan Mousely, and Sam Curran handling the middle order for the team. They are talented players who know how to hit bowlers whenever a loose ball comes up. Livingstone’s role will be crucial as he must handle the team and not lose focus.

Bowlers:

Jofra Archer

Reece Topley, John Turner, Jofra Archer, and Jafer Choan are the main bowlers in the team. Since the matches are in the Caribbean nation, they will have to bowl well and take early wickets which will benefit the team.
