Predicting England’s Playing XI for 1st T20I against West Indies

England has added Jos Buttler to their playing XI for T20 matches against West Indies. After missing the Hundred, ODIs, and T20Is against Australia, in addition to the just finished ODI, the captain will play for the first time since England was eliminated from the 2024 T20 World Cup at the end of June. Phil Salt will take wicket keeping responsibilities while Buttler, who has been out due to a groin ailment, bats at the top of the order.

After a good performance in ODI England will hope to do the same in T20Is as well. According to the most recent ICC men’s T20I rankings, England is now rated third, while the West Indies is one position below at number four. Livam Livingstone and Sam Curran are two strong pillars of the England middle order. Liam Livingston can change the game and adds power to the batting order. When a ball becomes loose, they are skilled players who know how to hit bowlers. Because he has to manage the team and maintain focus, Livingstone’s position will be vital.  While Jacob Bethell is not having much experience.

Lower-Middle Order

For England the problem is with lower-middle order as they have inexperienced players. Dan Mousley is likely to get a debut against West Indies while Jamie Overton has played only two T20I matches and will aim to get more runs during the series.

Jofra Archer will lead the pace attack of the team. With pace bowling Jofra Archer will look to get break-through and will aim to get quick wickets to keep West Indies on low score. While he gets support from Adil Rashid. While John Turner another pacer will help Jofra in pace attack.We may see John Turner making his debut for the team.
