Predicting Bangladesh’s playing XI vs Sri Lanka in ODI World Cup 2023

In this article we will unfold the possible Bangladesh’s playing XI against Sri Lanka for the ODI World Cup 2023. Bangladesh has been knocked out of contention to qualify for the semi-finals and all they have now is to play for pride. In the last match, they were thrashed by Pakistan at Eden Gardens but they will be looking to move on from that defeat as they still have a Champions Trophy spot at stake. The Bangla Tigers will be locking horns with Sri Lanka in their next encounter in Delhi. Let’s take a look at the probable starting lineup for Bangladesh against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh’s playing XI for the ODI World Cup 2023:

Top Order

Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das

The management has tried to stick with the opening pair of Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das. Tanzid Hasan has not impressed so far whereas Liton Das has got starts in a few innings but he has not been able to convert those into big scores. Against Bangladesh, they’ll be looking to play a big knock.

Najmul Hossain Shanto came into this World Cup with a big reputation but it has not turned out to be an impressive tournament for him. Now with Bangladesh being out of the tournament, these players can express themselves.

Middle Order

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah were promoted in the batting order against Pakistan which was a sensible decision and this time as well they might go with the same combination. Shakib Al Hasan got a fifty-plus score in the last game, this would be another chance for him to maintain that form. Towhid Hridoy and Mehidy Hasan will be coming in the lower middle order.

Bowling Unit

Shoriful Islam and Mustafizur Rahman

In the last match, Fakhar Zaman tested the Bangladesh bowling unit and there were no easy escapes for this bowling lineup. Bangladeshi bowlers would be looking to redeem their self-confidence. Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Mustafizur Rahman will form the pace trio. It would be another tough test for this pace trio on a batting-friendly Delhi pitch.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz would be the two spinners who would be very crucial on this ground if they have to win against Sri Lanka.
