Predicting Bangladesh's Playing XI for 2nd T20I against India

Bangladesh were completely outplayed during the 1st T20I game by Team India on Sunday. Najmul Shanto and his team could score only 127 runs and saw the home team chase down the target in just 11.5 overs. It wasn’t the kind of start that the Bangladeshi team were looking at to start the 3-match series.

Speaking at the end of the game Najmul Shanto said, “We have the ability, but we have room for improvement in our skills. We have been batting in this way for the last 10 years. Sometimes we do well. We have to make some changes, perhaps where we practice back home. We play on 140-150 wickets at home. Our batters don’t know how to score 180 runs. I won’t blame just the wickets, but we have to consider skills and mentality.”

The Bangladeshi skipper also said, “Powerplay is a worry. The approach we talked about (before the game) will be successful if we make a good start with the bat. We have to keep the wickets in the first six overs and score runs in those. Otherwise, for those coming in next, it becomes too challenging for them. We have struggled in the powerplay. Those batting in the power play must take more responsibility.”

Here is the likely Bangladesh XI vs India for 2nd T20I

Top order

Litton Das

Bangladesh will look for a good start from their openers during the 2nd game in New Delhi on Wednesday. Litton Das scored only 4 runs before he holed out to Rinku Singh off Arshdeep Singh’s bowling, Parvez Emon scored 8 runs before he was cast by Arshdeep. Skipper Shanto was the best top-order batter as he scored 27 off 25 balls with one four and one six.

Middle Order

Towhid Hridoy

Bangladeshi batter Towhid Hridoy is one of the most talented batters in the current era. The right-handed batter scored 12 runs from 18 balls before he was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy. The young batter scored 2 fours off 2 balls to show his skills with the bat. Veteran Mahmudullah will have good memories of the stadium as he was the captain of Bangladesh in 2019 when his team beat India for the 1st time in T20I cricket. Jaker Ali scored 8 runs with one six but his knock ended soon thanks to Varun Chakravarthy.

Lower-order

Mehidy Hasan Miraz

The best player for Bangladesh on Sunday was Mehidy Hasan Miraz who was not out on 35. His knock came off 32 balls with 3 hits to the fence and helped his side go past 100 after being 75/6 at one stage. Rishad Hossain scored a quick 11 off 5 balls with one and one six but failed to pick any wicket. Taskin Ahmed had a game to forget with the ball as he was hit for 44 runs from his 2.5 overs. With the bat, the left-handed batter scored 12 runs.

Tailenders

Mustafizur Rahman

It wasn’t a great day for the Bangladeshi seamers as the Indian batters went after them. Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman picked up one wicket but was hit for 36 runs from 3 overs. Shoriful Islam made his return to cricket after a long layoff due to injury. The left-arm seamer bowled 2 overs and gave away 17 runs without picking a wicket.
