Predicting Australia's playing XI for their 4th Test match against India

The ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 is going at a great pace with the series levelled, 1-1. The Boxing Day Test match will start on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, where both Australia and India will be eager to face each other. Australia have a good batting and bowling line-up and have a high chance of beating India in the fourth game.

Travis Head is the Player of the Moment who is in terrific form. After smashing back-to-back centuries, he’ll be ready to thrash the bowlers in the upcoming games. Apart from him, all the batters have a fair contribution to the game. Even the bowlers have done their bit in all three games.

Here’s the predicted XI of Australia in 4th match vs India:

Top Order

Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne

Sam Konstas, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne are the top-order batters. Konstas is likely to debut against India in the fourth game as he is in the team replacing Nathan McSweeny. The player failed to perform well in all three games, post which he was excluded from the squad. Konstas has been a brilliant player in the domestic games and having in the team is a strategic move from the Aussies.

Middle Order

Steve Smith and Travis Head

The middle-order batters are Steve Smith, Travis Head, Alex Carey, and Mitchell Marsh. They have been terrific throughout the series so far. Head is the best batter for Australia while he has gotten a considerable amount of support from the other batters. In the last two games, Australia will hope for their best batters to be in form and play well.

Bowlers

Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc

Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Scott Boland are the bowling unit of Australia. They have wreaked havoc on the Indian batters, dismissing them under low scores. The last two games are extremely important and the bowlers will look to play well against India.
