Predicting Australia’s Playing XI for their 1st ODI against Pakistan

On November 4, Australia and Pakistan will play their first One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series. The Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne will host the AUS vs PAK first ODI 2024, which is set to begin at 9:00 AM IST (Indian Standard Time).

The Australian team, which includes well-known players, will be captained by Pat Cummins. Australia, the reigning world champions, is the clear favorite to defeat Pakistan in the opening ODI. In contrast, the Pakistani team has had some difficulty playing international cricket. Muhammad Rizwan will take over as captain of Pakistan. Rizwan can help his team defeat Australia by making some astute decisions during the game. He has a reasonable thinking.

Jake Fraser McGurk and David Warner

Jake Fraser-McGurk is young talented batter for Australia. During the ODI series against West Indies, he made his debut and so far, as played only 2 matches for the team. Ahead of Pakistan series Jake Fraser-McGurk he will capitalize the chance may take David Warner place as opener. While in T20i he has showed his batting skills. Matthew Short has also played 8 ODI and scored 153 runs. Though he is lacking experiencing he keeps on getting runs which helps the team. Steven Smith the most experience batter comes down the order. With 163 ODI under his game, he scored 5583 runs. 

Middle Order:

Marnus Labuschagne and Glenn Maxwell

Marnus Labuschagne brings balance to the middle order with experience he gets runs on the scoreboard. He has ability to change the game and took control of the game. Marnus Labuschagne gets support from Glenn Maxwell in middle order. Glenn Maxwell can be dangerous batter when it’s his day. Glenn Maxwell can add quick runs for the team and if the top order failed both the batter can take the score ahead.

Lower-middle order:

Marcus Stoinis and Aaron Hardie

Marcus Stoinis and Aaron Hardie add power to the batting order. In 70 ODI Marcus Stoinis has scored 1487 runs and has highest of 146 runs with average of 27.03 in ODIs. While Aaron Hardie has played 8 ODI and scored 98 runs so far.

Lower Order:

Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc

The Aussies have a strong bowling attack as Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc opens the bowling for the wicket. Both the bowlers are dangerous for the opposition and can change the course of game. While Jos Hazlewood gives support to the attack and helps the team in taking wicket.
