Three years ago West Indies pulled off one of the best wins in the Test match against Pakistan. It was one of the best games of cricket played as the West Indies won the first Test match at Kingston in Jamaica.
At one stage the West Indian side were 151/9 still needing 17 runs to win the game. Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales had the task of leading their side to win which they did as the pair batted for 25 balls to pull off one of the best wins for the Caribbean side.
Kraig Braithwaite won the toss and chose to field first. Pakistan were all out for 217 runs as Fawad Alam top scored with 56 runs while Faheem Ashraf scored 44. Jayden Seales and Jason Holder picked three wickets for the home team.
West Indies achieved a thrilling win
The West Indian side got a lead of 36 runs in their first innings as Kraig Brathwaite top-scored with 97. Former skipper Jason Holder was the next-best batter scoring 58 runs from 108 balls.
Shaheen Shah Afridi was the best bowler for Pakistan with figures of 4/59 while Mohammad Abbas picked 3/43. In the second innings, Pakistan were all out for 203 runs as Babar Azam scored 55 runs from 160 balls to become the best batter for the Pakistani side.
Jayden Seales was the best bowler for the home side with figures of 5/55 from his 15.4 overs. Needing 168 to win, West Indies were 16/3 at one stage as Shaheen Shah Afridi removed Kraigg Brathwaite, Kieran Powell, and Nkrumah Bonner.
Roston Chase and Jermaine Blackwood then added 68 runs for the 4th wicket in 117 balls. Jermaine Blackwood led the charge as he scored 55 runs from 78 in his 127 minutes at the crease. Faheem Ashraf then got the wickets of Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers to bring Pakistan back into the game.
Hasan Ali got Pakistan their biggest wicket as he dismissed Blackwood with the home team still needing 57 runs. Jason Holder scored 16 runs before he saw his stumps being disturbed by Hasan Ali. Afridi then got the wicket of Joshua Da Silva for 13 while Jomel Warrican was out for 6 to Hasan Ali. Kemar Roach scored 30 runs from 52 balls with 2 fours having batted for 92 balls, while Jayden Seales was not out on 2 off 13 balls. The West Indies bowler was given the man of the match for his efforts with bat and ball.
