However there are some cricketers who are highly underrated despite their great performances in International cricket.

One of the players that comes under this category is Ajinkya Rahane. The former India captain has given some iconic performances in his career which we all have celebrated as fans. Today the elegant batter will be turning 36 and it will be interesting to see the career of one of the best batters for India in modern day cricket. This might not be one of the biggest careers in cricket, but it surely gave us some iconic moments.

The underrated Overseas legend

Though Rahane does have some decent performances in One day cricket and in the IPL, It is his Test career that has put him on the map. He has played 85 Test Matches where he has scored over 5000 runs at an average of 38.46. There have been some iconic knocks from the Mumbai batter which have also come in tough Overseas conditions. Even in grounds where Indian batters were struggling.

His most major contribution was in the Border Gavaskar 2020/21 where he led a young and inexperienced side and won the series 2-1. He was also one of the highest run scorers for India and scored an iconic century at the MCG on Boxing day. This was a career which might have not stood the test of times, but has still given us some of the greatest moments in Indian cricket.
