The Beginning

Brett Lee made his international debut for Australia in 1999 against India on Boxing Day when he got to wear the famous Baggy Green and represent Australia in Test cricket. His performances in test cricket earned him a call-up for the ODI team as well. The fast bowler from New South Wales made his debut in the year 2000 against another Asian rival, Pakistan at Brisbane. He went on to become the spearhead of the Australian pace attack in both formats.

The Overview

Brett Lee has an illustrious career in all the formats for Australia. He has played 76 test matches for Australia and has 310 wickets to his name at an average of 30.81. He partnered with the likes of Glen McGrath and Jason Gillespie in test cricket. Brett Lee has ten 5-wicket hauls in his test career which shows how intimidating he was when he bowled at his peak.

Brett Lee retired from test cricket in 2008 in the Boxing Day test, where he started his test career. Finally, he bid his goodbye to international cricket in 2012 with an ODI against England. He will always be remembered as one of the stars in the league of most threatening fast bowlers that world cricket has ever seen.
