OTD | Pakistan’s star pacer Hasan Ali was born in 1994

Hasan Ali, Pakistan’s star medium pacer, was born on July 2, 1994. He has several variations that disturb the batter because it confuses them to the core. He sometimes reads the batters’ minds and then gets their wicket quickly. He is an intelligent bowler who knows his way in the game. He made his Test debut in Pakistan’s team on the day of Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan’s farewell, a historic day in Pakistani cricket as two of the most respected players bid adieu to the game.

In the Champions Trophy 2017, even though he started his tournament on a sour note, he ended up as the leading run-scorer of Pakistan at an average of 14.69 while only conceding 4.29 an over. He can take wickets in the middle overs, so he became an asset to the team. With this, he won the Player of the Tournament.

Regarding stats, Hasan Ali has played 24 Test matches and has taken 80 wickets at an average of 2731. Moreover, in 66 ODI matches, he has taken 100 wickets at an average of 30.84. He has also played around 51 T20Is and has taken 60 wickets, but he hasn’t been as economical in this format due to the aggressive nature of T20 cricket. He also has a record under his name as the fastest player to reach 50 wickets in ODIs in just 24 innings. He is one of the best bowlers in Pakistan but has been out of form for some time now.
