OTD| One of Pakistan first-class success stories, all-rounder Imad Wasim was born in 1988

Imad Wasim, an all-rounder for Pakistan, has announced his immediate retirement from international cricket. Three weeks ago, the 35-year-old Wasim announced the news on X, the platform that was once known as Twitter.  With a total score of 1,472 runs and 109 wickets taken with his left-arm spin in 55 One-Day Internationals and 66 Twenty20 matches, Wasim represented Pakistan in cricket. Wasim believed that he should give up playing cricket internationally.

After playing his first One-Day International (ODI) match in 2015 against Sri Lanka in Colombo, Wasim has not represented Pakistan in an ODI since 2020 when they played Zimbabwe in Rawalpindi. April was his final Twenty20 international match for Pakistan versus New Zealand.

One of the most unwanted records in cricket history involves the former all-round player from Pakistan. In a PSL encounter, Haider Ali’s crucial 59 runs helped the Karachi Kings, who were batting first during the innings, achieve 173 runs.

Imad Wasim, the captain of the Karachi Kings, was removed for a golden duck on the first ball after failing to open his account. Imad then found himself at the top of the list of players with the most ducks in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history after recording 10 ducks throughout his PSL tenure.

One of the best innings of Imad Wasim from 2023!

Known for his consistency as a middle-order batsman in Twenty20 cricket, all-rounder Imad Wasim put up an impressive display in the August 11th Caribbean Premier League (CPL) game between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Imad, playing for the Tallawahs, entered the crease during a desperate position after his side had collapsed to 13-4 in only 4.2 overs. The left-handed hitter now became a ray of light for the faltering Jamaican team.

The southpaw helped his side surpass a massive 211-run objective by demonstrating his batting prowess by scoring an astounding 63 runs off just 36 balls. Three fours and five sixes in his innings.
