Jemimah Rodrigues hails from the city of dreams Mumbai and is one of the finest women cricketers in the India team. Jemimah Rodrigues’ cricket journey started at age 4 at a local ground. In her early days, she played cricket and hockey and was selected for the U-19 hockey team and U-17 cricket. Her U-19 cricket journey started in the 2012/13 season with the Mumbai team and when she was 13 years old, she was selected for the U-19 state cricket of Maharashtra.
She scored 665 runs in 10 innings during the domestic season in 2016–17. She improved her performance the next season, hitting 1,013 runs with five hundred and a double-ton. Her performance in domestic cricket helped her get her maiden India call-up.
In 2018, Jeminah Rodrigues made her debut for the India team during the ODI and T20I series against South Africa.
Jemimah has grown to be among the most dependable middle-order batters over time. On her T20I debut, she partnered with Mithali Raj and scored a critical 37. She has represented both Melbourne teams in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and participated in The Hundred for the Northern Superchargers.
The BCCI named her the best domestic junior women’s cricket player in 2018. She was selected for India’s team for the 2018 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, held in the West Indies, in October 2018, despite being only eighteen years old. Jemimah got 59 runs against New Zealand in her debut game. She scored ninety-three runs in the run to the final. She was unable to repeat her heroics in the championship game, though, as Australia defeated India. The International Cricket Council (ICC) recognized her as the team’s standout player after the competition.
Jemimah made her test debut in 2023 at home against England, despite being included in the Indian Test team for their one-off match against them. In her first-ever test match, the right-hand hitter scored 68 and 27. The middle-order hitter has scored more than 2,500 runs in more than 120 games as of 2024.
