There have been some exciting teams in international cricket but none of them come close to the Bangladesh side at all. Though this team might have not achieved a lot in cricket even today they have still given us some great moments and great players in the game. There have been a variety of talented and great players that the Tigers have produced and they are all happy with their contribution to the game.

One of the talented players of Bangladesh in the 90s and the early 2000s is Habibul Bashar. Bashar was a talented middle-order batter known for his elegant strokes in the game. It is no surprise that he went on to play 161 international matches and also went on to score more than 5000 international runs as well. This might have not been the longest career but it was enough to put him among the greatest to ever play for the Bengal nation.

The skipper who led Bangladesh in one of their most iconic World Cup campaigns

There is no doubt that Bashar was one of the most talented batters who was scoring runs for his nation even during the struggling moments for the team, but we must not forget that he was also considered one of the best skippers in the team. One of his iconic moments was when he took an underdog team to the second round of the 2007 ODI World Cup. This was also the moment where they defeated a strong Indian side and made it to the Super Eights. This was the moment which kickstarted Bangladesh as one of the threatening underdog teams in international cricket and Bashar was at the helm of it.

This might have not been the greatest tournament with the bat for Bashar, but he still went on to lead the Bangladesh side past the first round of a World Cup. It is safe to say that he was still one of the greatest figures of Bangladesh cricket which we should appreciate for giving us some great innings with the bat, especially on the 17th of August which was the time he came into this World to create history in international cricket.
