English star pacer James Anderson was born on July 30, 1982, in Lancashire, England. The right-arm fast bowler made his ODI debut at the age of 20 on December 15, 2022, against Australia. The great seamer made an excellent first impression by taking 11 wickets in his first six matches against Australia

He continued to have glory at the 50-over World Cup in 2003, earning the player of the match award against Pakistan, and shortly after that, the English cricketer made his Test debut, and is now considered one of the best Test bowlers in the history of cricket. Notably, on May 22, 2003, he made his Test debut against Zimbabwe.

As the cricketing legend celebrates his birthday, we will look back on his Test career. Notably, the year 2007 was a historic moment for the seamer, who went on to put up a number of outstanding series before receiving the award as one of Wisden’s cricketers of the year in 2009. Following that, the English pacer had scalped the maximum number of wickets in the 2010–11 Ashes. 

The great bowler surpassed Ian Botham and became England’s finest bowler during the team’s tour of the West Indies in April 2015. Currently, he has been playing in the ongoing Ashes. The cricketing legend has played 179 Test matches so far and has 689 wickets to his credit, including a three-time 10-wicket haul in a series with a best bowling figure of 7/42. He has had a 5-wicket haul in Test innings around 32 times so far in his remarkable career. 

It’s undeniable that Anderson has done his best to cement himself as one of the biggest threats to England’s attack. The ability with which he can adapt to different circumstances, create exceedingly successful outcomes, and greatly contribute to the achievements of England
