OTD| Bangladesh registered their lowest Test innings score of 43 against West Indies in 2018

OTD Bangladesh registered their lowest Test innings score of 43 against West Indies in 2018

Bangladesh got their Test status in late 2000 and in their very first match, they played India and scored a massive 400-plus score on the board. Despite losing the match, many felt that Bangladesh was ready for the next step.
Out of the 142 Test matches that Bangladesh has played so far, they have just won 19. On the other hand, they managed to lose a whopping 105 Test matches and draw just 18 matches.

It is no secret that despite boasting of some big names, Bangladesh have managed to struggle in the Test format. They have one of the worst records for any side having Test status with a minimum of 100m matches being played.
Bangladesh humbled and bowled out for 43

It was 2018 when the Bangladeshi side went on a tour of the West Indies. Jason Holder won the toss and chose to bowl first on what looked like a fresh pitch in Antigua. Kemar Roach began by dismissing Tamim Iqbal for 4 caught behind by Shane Dowrich.

Mominul Haque was the next man out as he offered a simple catch to Shai Hope to give Roach his 2nd wicket. Kemar Roach then struck thrice in a single over as he picked 3 wickets in 4 balls to leave the visitors reeling.
The right-arm pacer got the wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim, skipper Shakib Al Hasan and Mahumdullah for ducks. This left Bangladesh reeling at 18/5 with Litton Das waging a lone battle with the bat. Das was out for 25 when he was caught by Roston Chase off Miguel Cummins.

It was then the turn of Miguel Cummins as he ran through the Bangladeshi lower order and ended with 3/11. Jason Holder got two wickets for himself as the skipper ended with 2/10 from his 4.4 overs.
West Indies scored 406 in their 1st innings with Kraigg Brathwaite scoring 121 and Shai Hope scoring 67. Armed with a lead of 363, the home team bowled out Bangladesh for 144 in the second innings as Shannon Gabriel picked 5/77 for his side.
