On this day, back in 1993, Australia’s skipper, Pat Cummins, was born. Notably, Cummins is highly regarded as an all-time great seamer, especially in the red ball game, and one of the finest fast bowlers of his generation in cricket history, who has taken his side to the epitome of the level with his huge success. Cummins had a terrific 2023 year, as his side won the World Test Championship in June 2023 after defeating Team India under his leadership. However, Pat Cummins and Co. once again defeated the Men in Blue during the ODI World Cup 2023 final to grab their sixth title.

Speaking about his Test success here, the star cricketer made his red-ball debut back in 2011 at the age of just 18; however, a few grave injuries have kept him out for around seven years. The star cricketer marked his solid comeback in the 2018–2019 year and was awarded the Allan Border Medal in the honour of the best cricketer of the year back in 2018. However, beyond that, he also won Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year in 2019, while he was presented with the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy by the Apex Cricket Council in 2023.

As the star cricketer turns 31 today, let’s have a look at some monumental feats achieved by him in his career. Pat Cummins was one of the Australian cricketers to be named in the 2019 Test Team of the Year and later named as the Test Cricketer of the Year. Cummins took his 100 wickets in one-day international cricket against South Africa in 2020 and set his name in the history books.

Cummins was the highest wicket-taker during the 2021 Border Gavaskar Trophy; however, Virat Kohli led India to beat them by 2-1 in the final game. The right-arm seamer was later named in the Australian squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup, where he picked up five wickets and guided his side to win the tournament. Pat Cummins made his IPL debut back in 2014; however, IPL 2024 makes him the second-most-costliest player in IPL history. Notably, the Sydney-born cricketer seems to be the main threat ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, owing to his lethal bowling spells.
