Read on as we discover the SWOT analysis of Pakistan squad. Pakistan is one of the least favorite teams to win the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Recently, they missed out on the Asia Cup 2023 final. They lost to India by 228 runs and lost a last-ball encounter to Sri Lanka. Since then, the team has been in utter chaos, although one can say that it was bound to happen sometime.
Meanwhile, in the recent warm-up game against New Zealand, their bowlers failed to defend 345 runs. Apart from this, the team doesn’t seem to have found their right combination. Meanwhile, ahead of the tournament, let’s have a look at the SWOT analysis of the 1992 World Cup winners.
SWOT analysis of Pakistan:
1. Strength
Talking about the strength, the team doesn’t have many. However, the likes of Fakhar Zaman, Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmad, and Shaheen Afridi are their best chances to do well. If they don’t deliver, it won’t for a surprise if they crashed out in the first round.
2. Weakness
Talking about the weakness, the team will miss Naseem Shah. He has been replaced by Hassan Ali. The latter has been in and out of the team in the last few years. In their bowling department, Afridi is the only bowler suited for the ODI format. Their spin-bowling is always weak. Hasan, Mohammad Wasim Jr, etc haven’t been the best of fast bowlers in Pakistan.
3. Opportunities
The likes of Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz as spin bowlers have the opportunity to prove their critics wrong. Apart from them, the likes of Wasim Jr, Hassan can also turn around their careers.
4. Threats
Pakistan has inherently been a poor fielding and this time has been no different. Also, their dependance on a few players with the bat and ball will lead to them getting poor results in the tournament
