ODI World Cup 2023: Predicting England’s Playing XI for their encounter against Bangladesh

Defending champions England have not got the start they needed in the 2023 World Cup opener against New Zealand. Jos Butller’s side was handed a hefty defeat by the Black Caps. Youngster Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway made a 283-run chase look easy as the two batters scored centuries in the first match of the marquee event. The three Lions will be up against Bangladesh in the seventh match of the tournament.

Bangladesh comes into this match with the confidence of winning their first match comfortably against Afghanistan by six wickets. They would love to keep their winning momentum going against the 2019 World Champions. Bangladesh defeated the World Champions in the 2011 and 2015 World Cup respectively. Shakib Al Hasan’s side would love to keep the pressure on and give them a good fight.

Here is the ODI World Cup 2023, Best Predicted England’s Playing XI against Bangladesh:

Openers

Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow

Dawid Malan and Jonny Bairstow will be the possible openers for Monday’s game. They would love to give a good start to their side against Bangladesh. Both the batters have failed in the first match against the Kiwis. They need to score some from the top in order to make sure that England win their first game.

Middle Order

Joe Root

Joe Root was the highest run scorer for the defending champions in their last match as the batter scored 77 runs off 86 balls. Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Jos Buttler, and Liam Livingstone could not get the runs in their first match. All the batters got the start but they could not convert them into big scores. They would like their middle order to fire with the depth of batting they have with explosive fire powers.

Lower Order and Bowlers

Chris Woakes and Mark Wood

With a star-studded lower-order lineup, the likes of Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, and Adil Rashid need to step up as no bowlers performed in the first match. The Kiwis won the match comfortably by nine wickets. Curran was the only wicket-taker for the Three Lions. They would like to come with all guns blazing in the second match to win it.
