On October 20, Australia and Pakistan will play each other in what will be the first game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. While the Green Brigade has a better position with two wins out of three games, the Kangaroos have won only one game in three games. However, the Aussies have momentum after a big win against Sri Lanka.
On the other hand, Pakistan was smashed by India in their last game. Meanwhile, the 1992 World Cup winners have been dealing with health issues ahead of the game. While the infected players are quarantined, it is expected that the players are expected to recover before the game. On the other hand, the Aussies would love this pitch.
ODI World Cup 2023 Australia’s possible playing XI against Pakistan:
1. Top-order
Talking about the top-order, the likes of Mitchell Marsh and David Warner will open the batting. The former was doing well and looked in rhythm with the bat before getting run-out. On the other hand, even though Warner doesn’t have a big score so far, he has looked good. Apart from them, former skipper Steve Smith is yet to deliver but will still play for the team.
2. Middle-order and all-rounders
Marnus Labuschagne, who made his place in the team in a lead up to the tournament, did fine against the Lankan Lions. Apart from him, the likes of Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, and Marcus Stoinis did the finishing job. Wicketkeeping job will be done by Inglis.
Apart from this, Maxwell, who plays for Royal Challengers Banglare and Stoinis, who used to play for the three-time IPL finalists, will be playing in this game.
3. Bowlers
Talking about the bowlers, Mitchell Starc used to play for RCB in 2014-15. On the other hand, Josh Hazlewood also plays at this venue. Adam Zampa got his form back with a four-wicket haul against Sri Lanka while skipper Pat Cummins will complete the playing XI
