On July 18, 2004, in the Asia Cup, the renowned Pakistani cricketer Younis Khan struck a magnificent 144 against Hong Kong. This is considered the most memorable knock from Pakistan and the second-greatest total from an Asian national after Indian star batter Virat Kohli. In this match, the Men in Green squad batted initially, and the stylish batter took full advantage of the conditions to rack up 144 from just 122 balls while hammering 20 fours. It was enjoyable to watch the entire game, as Pakistan ended up winning by 178 runs. Notably, Pakistan posted a great total of 344 runs against Hong Kong, which they were not able to chase and bundled out for just 165 runs.

On July 25, in the 2004 Asia Cup, with merely one run, Shoaib Malik, the Pakistani cricketer, ranked as the second-highest individual score, which is also his greatest ODI performance. The great batter Shoaib Malik produced an exceptionally remarkable knock of 143 from just 127 balls, and Pakistan won the game by 59 runs in the end, owing to this diligence by Malik. Although the other Pakistani batters were dismissed, Malik continued to be alone at the other end and push the total.

Notably, on June 26, 2008, during the Asia Cup group stage, Shoaib Malik of Pakistan produced a heroic unbeaten 125 against India to lead his side to a formidable score of 299—a score that ended up falling far short in defending. Pakistan’s star batter exploited every part of the ground to generate runs and looked equally adept at handling spin. But the duo of Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina both succeeded in eliminating their arch-rivals from the game. India chased down 300 in just 42.1 overs with six wickets remaining owing to Sehwag’s 119 off just 95 balls and Raina’s 84 off just 69 balls.
