Rachin Ravindra played a magnificent knock of 108 along with captain Kane Williamson who scored 95 runs to put New Zealand in a comfortable position.

2. 393/6 vs West Indies, 2015

Another Kiwi batting explosion came on their home soil in 2015. Wellington witnessed Martin Guptill’s masterclass who scored a historic double century to dismantle the West Indies bowling attack. Guptill scored 237 runs and exploited batting-friendly conditions and the small dimension of the ground in Wellington. There were no other significant contributions from any other batter which reflects on the importance and magnitude of this knock from Martin Guptill. Ross Taylor was the second-highest run-scorer for New Zealand in this match with 42 runs, a huge gap between Guptill and any other batter. The Kiwis won the match comfortably at the end by 143 runs.

This massive total came in a run chase which New Zealand agonizingly lost by 5 runs. The Kiwis were chasing a humongous target of 389 in Dharamshala and they fell short by a narrow margin. Once again Rachin Ravindra stood up for his team in a difficult situation and scored a brilliant century which was followed up by half-centuries from James Neesham and Daryl Mitchell. Losing wickets at regular intervals cost New Zealand the match in the end.
