Michael Clarke made an impactful debut in the ODI format in early 2003 versus England at the Adelaide Cricket Ground. The youngster picked the wicket of Ronnie Irani to get his maiden ODI scalp. With the bat, Clarke scored 39 off 47 balls and stayed not out to help his team win the game. 

During the end of his career, Clarke was the captain of the team and oversaw his side to lift the ODI World Cup title in 2015 in front of his home crowd. Michael Clarke played a total of 245 ODI matches and scored 7981 runs with 8 centuries and 58 fifties and also picked 57 wickets with the ball.

The knock came off a mere 91 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Sri Lanka though won the game and forced a decider for the title.

Three years after making his Test debut at the same venue, Michael Clarke scored his best ODI score against India in Bengaluru. The game ended in a washout as rains played spoilsport with India placed at 9/1. Michael Clarke batting at 4 scored 130 runs from 132 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes to help Australia post 307 on the board.

Not only with the bat, but Michael Clarke was also lethal with the ball in hand. His best showing came during an ODI match versus Sri Lanka early in his career in Dambulla. Sri Lanka batted first and scored 245 with Clarke getting the wickets of Mahela Jayawardene and Tillakaratne Dilshan before dismissing Upul Chandana, Russell Arnold and Chaminda to pick 5/35 from his 7.5 overs. Australia lost the match by 1 run with Clarke scoring a duck while opening the batting.
