In the 1995 tour of New Zealand to India, the former New Zealand skipper scored a match-winning innings of 107 not out from 129 deliveries and guided the visitors to a victory by 8 wickets. The New Zealand skipper along with Stephen Fleming stitched together a brilliant partnership of 171 runs to ensure that the New Zealand team won the first match of the series.

2. 105* vs. England in Auckland in 1984

In the 1984 England tour of New Zealand, the former New Zealand star batter smashed yet another memorable century as he scored match-winning 105 runs. One could eventually sense that innings coming as the legendary batter was in his prime form during the course of the series.

3. 104 vs. India in Dunedin in 1990

In the 1990 edition of the Rothmans Cup Triangular series which was played between India, Australia, and New Zealand. The tournament opener was embraced by a match-winning century from former Inda skipper who scored a brilliant 104 runs off 135 deliveries. In his sublime innings, Martin hit six boundaries along with one maximum. 

Eventually, his innings proved to be the differentiator between the team and for his valiant effort, the former New Zealand player was also awarded the Player of the match award.
