Punjab Kings is one of the teams in the Indian Premier League which are known for putting up the big totals in the 20-over format tournament. Other than this, they have also made an impact in the IPL by chasing the very big and mammoth targets on couple of occasions in the history of the tournament. 

There have been the instances when the PBKS amazed everyone with their brilliant batting in the second innings and chasing down the massive totals even more than the 200 in the given 20 overs or even before that with a few balls to spare.

Punjab Kings vs Chennai Super Kings – (Target: 206 – against CSK and SRH in IPL 2014; against RCB in IPL 2022) 

It seems like that the Punjab Kings have a different story with the particular figure of 206 while getting the target in the Indian Premier League. They have chased the same target of 206 runs for three times in two different editions of the tournament. First time, they successfully chased down the target of 206 runs in the IPL 2014 against Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi and won the match by six wickets. 

Later on, they chased down the same target within a period of less than a month against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad. PBKS chased down the total only in 18.4 overs by scoring 211 runs for the loss of four wickets and won the match by six wickets. Third time, it was during the last edition of IPL 2022 when they comfortably crossed the finishing line in 19 overs by scoring 208 runs for the loss of five wickets and won the match by five wickets against RCB. 

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Punjab Kings – (Target: 201 – IPL 2010 and against CSK in IPL 2023) 

It was the third season of the Indian Premier League in 2010; Punjab Kings were locking horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders at the latter’s home ground Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Kolkata posted a target of 201 runs for PBKS to win in the second innings. The visitors comfortably chased down this total in 18.2 overs scoring 204 runs for the loss of only two wickets and won the match by a massive margin of eight wickets. 

Other than this match against KKR in IPL 2010, the Punjab Kings had also chased the target of 201 runs in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023. This match was played between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last month on the 30th of April. The Kings defeated CSK by scoring 201 runs for the loss of six wickets in all 20 overs and won the match by four wickets. 

Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings (Target: 192 – IPL 2014) 

IPL 2014 was the season which was played partially in UAE and India due to the general elections in India at the moment. In this match, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings were locking horns with each other in a league match on the 20th of April 2014. Batting first after losing the toss, the Royals scored 191 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. 

Later on, in the second innings, the Punjab Kings comfortably crossed the finishing line and chased down the target of 191 runs by scoring 193 runs for the loss of only three wickets in 18.4 overs with 10 balls to spare and won the match by seven wickets. The star batting all-rounder Glenn Maxwell played a swashbuckling knock and scored 89 runs off just 45 balls with eight boundaries and six sixes to his name in favour of the Kings to win the game.
