IPL: Top 3 highest successful chases by CSK 

Chennai Super Kings is the second most successful teams in the history of the IPL. They have lifted the title on 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. They have brought the best out of young talents over the years and their best players rarely failed in the league. Meanwhile, in the last 15 years, there have been some successful chases by the team. In this listicle, we will discuss the three successful ones for the team.

In the fifth season of the league, the then defending champions, CSK hosted RCB at the Chepauk. In the high scoring game, the Red Army batted well and amassed 205/8 with a dominating performance from the top-order consisting of Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and Mayank Agarwal.

In reply, the home team was going well for most parts in the chase but fell apart in the last few overs. In the last two overs, the team had a tough task of chasing 43 runs. However, with Kohli bowling the penultimate over, Albie Morkel took him for 28 runs. In the last over, the Yellow brigade chased down the target on the last ball of the game.

Six years later, the MS Dhoni-led side coincidentally chased down the same number of runs against the sam team but at a different venue. This time around, RCB played hosts to CSK. Batting first, the home team the same number of runs and the lost the same number of wickets as mentioned above. 

In reply, the visitor lost four wickets for 74 runs. However, the likes of Ambati Rayudu and skipper Dhoni took the team over the line with two balls left in the game.

3. 203 vs Kolkata Knight Riders

CSK played hosts to KKR in the match number five of the 2018 season. Batting first, the Purple brigade amassed 202/6, thanks to a counter attacking innings from Andre Russell. The team was struggling at 89/5 at one stage. 

In reply, Shane Watson and Ambati Rayudu played  cameos and provided a great start. However, some of the other failed to carry on and the team was in trouble. However, Sam Billings scored a half-century and took the team over the line with one ball left in the game
