IPL: Top 3 batters with most runs scored against Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals created history after they won the first-ever season of the Indian Premier League in 2008 by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final. However, they haven’t been able to replicate their success and it took them 15 years to reach their second IPL final in 2022, where they ended up losing to Gujarat Titans. 

However, RR are also doing great in the ongoing season as they currently are in the second position on the points table with five wins in the eight matches played so far in IPL 2023. Over the years, there are many batter who had a great record against RR. In this article, we will have a look at the top three batters in IPL history with most runs against RR.

1. Dinesh Karthik 

Veteran Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik comes third on the list despite coming as a finisher most of the time. Karthik has a great record against RR and his career-best IPL knock of 97 runs also came against them. He has amassed 614 runs in the 26 innings played against RR at an average of 32.31, including three half-centuries.

2. Suresh Raina

Former Chennai Super Kings batter Suresh Raina is another player who loves to score against RR. The Southpaw was one of the crucial players for CSK over the years and also had a great record against RR in his IPL career. Raina has scored 630 runs in the 23 innings played against RR at an average of  27.39 and a strike rate of 134.61, including four half-centuries.  His best score against them remains 98 runs. 

3. AB de Villiers

Even after his retirement after IPL 2021, the former star batter of Royal Challengers Bangalore, AB de Villiers tops the chart amongst the players with the most runs against RR. De Viliers has played so many memorable innings for RCB during his IPL career, and also had a great record when it comes to scoring against RR. The former South Africa cricketer has scored 652 runs in 20 innings against RR at an average of 46.57 and a strike rate of 147.17, including eight half-centuires.
