Scoring a hundred in any T20 game is an ability that isn’t possessed by many. A lot of players have played the shortest format of the game but are yet to score a hundred. Talking about the IPL, every season has some players scoring a hundred. This year, the record for most hundreds was all-time high. 1. IPL 2023
Talking about the 16th season of the cash-rich league, it saw an all-time high in the number of tons scored by the batters. A total of 12 batters scored a hundred. Out of them, three were scored by Shubman Gill and two by Virat Kohli. One each were scored by Harry Brook, Heinrich Klassen, Venkatesh Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Prabhsimran Singh, Cameron Green, and Suryakumar Yadav.
2. IPL 2022
The last year’s edition was played majorly in Maharashtra and the playoffs in Kolkata and Ahmedabad. During the tournament, four batters combined for eight tons. Out of them, England skipper Jos Buttler scored four hundreds, equalling Virat Kohli’s record in 2016. Apart from the former, KL Rahul scored two, all against Mumbai Indians. One each were scored by Rajat Patidar and Quinton de Kock.
3. IPL 2016
In this season, Kohli made such a record that might take a humungous effort to take down. In 16 games, the right-hander amassed 973 runs with four hundreds. Apart from him, three more players scored one ton each. They were Steve Smith, Quinton de Kock, and AB de Villiers.
